Brightwater's 600-hp tractor brings row-by-row seed control to 60-foot planters
The T600 pairs a new continuously variable transmission with an ISOBUS controller fast enough to shut off individual rows at planting speed.
Brightwater Agricultural has launched the T600, its most powerful row-crop tractor to date, and the company is pitching it less as a horsepower story than as a data one. The tractor ships with a planter controller that can turn individual rows on and off in under 40 milliseconds.
On a 60-foot, 24-row planter moving at 16 km/h, that response time is the difference between overlapping seed on point rows and hitting a headland cleanly. Brightwater claims seed savings of 3% to 6% on irregular fields, which on large corn and soybean operations can cover a meaningful share of the tractor's annual cost.
A transmission built for heavy draft
The new CVT is the first Brightwater has designed in-house for this power class. It holds a set ground speed as draft load changes, which the company says keeps seed spacing consistent when the planter crosses wet spots or climbs terraces.
Owners also get a redesigned cab with 360-degree lighting for night work and a single display that runs guidance, planter monitoring, and machine diagnostics instead of the two or three screens common on older setups.
The T600 will be available for the 2027 planting season. Brightwater says early allocation is already largely committed to dealers in the US Corn Belt and Brazil.
